The NJDOT Rt. 35 over Cheesequake Creek Bridge Rehabilitation is a bascule bridge rehabilitation and reconstruction project located in Sayreville and Old Bridge, NJ. The primary scope of work included staged concrete bridge deck replacements and substructure bearing replacements; structural steel rehabilitation, replacement, and painting of the single leaf bascule; rehabilitation and replacement of the movable bridge electrical and mechanical control systems and operator house; substructure concrete and fender system repairs and scour countermeasure installation; and approach roadwork consisting of curb, sidewalk, asphalt paving, and drainage.
