UTCA President James Johnston, Jr.In 2004, James Johnston Jr., founder and CEO of Agate, was inducted as president of the Utility and Transportation Contractors Association. Mr. Johnston proudly served the elected one-year term from September 2004 to September 2005. During his time, Mr. Johnston continued the commitment of the UTCA to advance the New Jersey Heavy Highway and Utility Construction industry. The organization promoted a unified voice before Federal and State agencies, monitored transportation funding sources, as well as proposed and monitored legislation. Along with its legislative and regulatory work, the UTCA also promoted safety training, labor relations and specifications development.
