Projects: Hereford Inlet, Wildwood, NJ

The United States Army Corp of Engineers (Philadelphia District) contracted Agate Construction to build and reconstruct the stone seawall along the northern end of North Wildwood. The wall is designed to protect against wave action and storm surges in Hereford Inlet. Unlike older seawall designs, this new wall is meant to absorb wave action rather than deflect it. As a wave hits the seawall it will be displaced and absorbed into the wall, causing less stress on the new structure. Found below are some pictures taken throughout the project showing several phases of construction of the new seawall.
