Safety

Agate values its employees and makes safety a top priority.

We have in place a comprehensive job site safety program where the main objective is to instill in every employee (field as well as office) the importance of maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.

As a frequent client of the New Jersey Department of Transportation, we are the recipient of numerous Work Zone Safety Awards for Traffic Control Coordination.

Agate’s commitment to safety extends from top management down to field personnel. Field personnel and project managers complete a 10-hour and 30-hour OSHA Safety Training course and we also sponsor industry appropriate courses such as CPR/First Aid, ACI and Traffic Control Coordinator classes. In addition, weekly Job Hazard Analysis discussions are conducted as well as Toolbox Talks with all field personnel. OSHA safety training sessions, safety audits and incident monitoring occurs throughout the year.

We also welcome frequent job-site visits from safety professionals employed by our insurance carrier. This allows expert, outside opinions to showcase any areas where we can improve.
